Exhibition
Wines from around the world on 500 m²
The museum’s 500 m² exhibition occupies two floors of the historic 500-year-old cellars under the Prešov Town Hall. It consists mainly of bottled wines from all corners of the world, complemented by exhibits on wine-making technology and vine growing. The collection currently includes nearly 2,000 kinds of wine. Visitors are guided by qualified staff who speak at least one foreign language.
The first floor presents wines from all Slovak wine-growing regions – some of them from producers that no longer exist. A separate section is devoted to the Tokaj region and its wine-making tradition.
The second floor introduces almost all European producers as well as wines from Asia, Africa, Australia and Latin America, sparkling wines made by the classic method, and Port, Sherry, Madeira and Vermouth.
Wine shop
Taste, choose, take home
Most of the exhibited wines are also available for sale or tasting in the stylish shop that is part of the museum. We offer gift packaging – cartons, wooden cases, hand-made paper bags and wooden or metal stands.
There is also a wide range of decorative bottles, jugs, carafes and glasses, which we can decorate on the spot with a gold or silver inscription or dedication.
Tasting hall
Under the vault for 50 guests
The largest and most beautiful room of the museum is the tasting hall, seating up to 50 guests at oak tables. It hosts everything from classic wine tastings to family celebrations, weddings, graduations, corporate events and trainings. We prepare cold or hot menus, and the programme can be complemented by live cimbalom music, singers, accordion players, folk storytellers or caricaturists.
Every visit is built around a wine tasting with expert commentary. Please book larger groups in advance.
